Here are just a few comments from happy Westie training savvy customers…

Your advice has been invaluable and I saw a massive change…
For such a small dog, Winston certainly had a lot of attitude. Every time I took him out for a walk, he would start barking ferociously and yanking on the leash as soon as he saw another dog approaching. It was embarrassing and annoying and I found our walks together really stressful. I was even getting up at 5am to try and take Winston for a walk before anyone else was around! Your advice has been invaluable and I saw a massive change in Winston as soon as I modified my own reactions to him. Thank you so much!

Digging Solution
I never thought I would actually be encouraging my dog to dig holes but your suggestion of creating the doggy sand pit has not only saved my back yard but it’s also given Roly hours of pleasure…!

Now I’ve corrected my mistake, Rosie comes running…
Rosie was such a lovely dog except for one thing – if I let her off the leash she would never come back when I called her.  I must have spent hours searching for her and chasing after her but even though I would then put her straight back on the leash to teach her a lesson, she still wouldn’t come back the next time. It wasn’t until I read Westie Savvy that I realised that I had been giving her completely the wrong message! I felt very foolish! Happily, now I’ve corrected my mistake, Rosie comes running as soon as I call her and our walks are a lot more pleasurable.

Tick Tip
We live near a wooded area with lots of long grass and, unfortunately, Whizz picked up a tick. I tried to twist it off but some of the tick’s head must have got stuck because Whizz came down with a nasty infection which cost me a trip to the vets.  Since then I have read your Westie Savvy guide and discovered the easy way to remove ticks. Now I always have some Vaseline in the cupboard!
