Are Westies Easy Trained? Please Help Me!?

I might be getting a westie and im a bit confused because some people say that westies are really hard to train however other people are saying that they’re really easy to train? Someone with a bit of westie knowledge help me please! Thanks

I have a 8 year old female westie that has been fixed that lives inside and I am thinking about getting a male German Shepherd. Im worried about her reaction towards a new dog. I am also worried about not being able to show her as much attention when the new puppy arrives because I know I will be spending lots of time training and exercising with the german shepherd. Please let me know what I should do.

How Do I Train 7 Month Old Blue Healer Boarder Collie To Quit Chewing On My 3.5 Year Old Westie’s Muzzle?

I have a 3.5 year old Westie that defends herself around other dogs pretty well, even my brother’s Pit Bull. My boyfriend has a 7 month old Blue Healer Boarder Collie mix that continually chews on the Westie’s muzzle and face. The BHBC will pin the Westie down with one paw just behind her ears and sit on her with her back end and proceed to chew on the Westie. Early on the Westie didn’t get too upset by this but it has gotten out of hand and the BHBC is hurting the Westie. When we try to separate the two the BHBC will lunge at us and bite at us. What do we do?

Training Westies?

We have a 12 week old Westie puppy who we have now had for a few weeks. Most of the training is going well apart from teaching her to stay alone. We both work full time but have taken a few weeks off to be with her and try and get used to staying alone – but this is not working. We were advised that Westie are very independent and would be ok to be left alone. We leave her in the kitchen when we go out but she does nothing but bark. She is fine left downstairs if we go upstairs (but she knows that we are still in the house). Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

How Long Does It Take To Potty Train 2 Westie’s Pups At The Time?

I have two baby Westies, They are 13 weeks old. How long does it normally take until a dog is fully potty trained? I got them when they were 8 weeks old. The breeder told me that it would take only a week to get them train! LOL It is not true, if they are out of the cage they will pee and poop on the kitchen floor! They have also pee and poop once in a while in their cage too! When they are in the cage, most of the time they will cry to let me know they need out to potty! I’m afraid of letting out all the time. I do not let them out in the carpet area at all! That they know not too but once in a while they will try!
