Pls Read, Do You Think This Dog Has A Good Chance?
Filed under Care & Training Q&As
so my neighbor has a puppy. its her females puppy. he was bred to be sold for 7000 dollars (she says) but they got to keep it. that’s because the pro. breeder is planning on showing the dog. first off, the female they already have has an over grown coat, is only washed every 6 months or so (its dirty and has a strange odor, not dog like) and its ear hair is cut oddly because one of the people it lives with decided they could cut them herself. these dogs really aren’t kept up and they are fed anything with real quality, just whats cheapest. these aren’t the type of people you can speak your opinion around so its no use in suggesting anything. they have already started cutting the pups hair and it has never had a bath. its almost 10 months old.
and i pretty sure they plan on showing up to the competition with this dog as is, then handing it off to the man who is showing it. he has won things before so they think he will know what to do. its never gotten any training. its a little furry white thing. i think its a westie? idk…
my question is, do you think this dog will really do well under these circumstances? they are expecting 1st place in at least one thing.

I had the most wonderful Westy for about ten years until he died of a heart attack. It broke my heart at the same time. He was a wonderful pet, pal and companion so much so that I could not bring myself to get another. However, whenever I hear the name or see one I am very happy with the memory. My pal Harry………….

I have tried letting her outside before company comes but she gets so excited she seems like she cannot help it. I can tell she feels bad but just cannot hold it…I let her outside very frequently. Is this behavior? Is ther anything else I can do? More training? Does it go away?
My Westie Attacks Viciously And Gets Very Possesive, Can This Be Trained Out Of Him?
Filed under Care & Training Q&As
I’ve had my westie for just over a year now and some extremely bad and aggresive behaviour is just starting to take place. When he was a puppy he had a few minor issues that could be trained out of him such as excessive barking, and running out of the house. He used to bite a lot but nothing major as he was only little and most of the time he was just playing.
A couple of months ago he was trying to get food out from the bin and my sister attempted to stop him by pushing him down and telling him “bad” (which he usually responds to), a few moments later he suddenly turned on her and bit her foot viciously, holding on to it. A lot of blood was drawn, but fortunately she didn’t need stitches. This was a major shock to the rest of the family as it was completely unexpected. Therefore we decided we would get him castrated to try and limit his aggressive and tempremental behaviour.
Its been 5 weeks sinse the operation and he seemed to slowly be getting better, so yesterday when he aggresively bit my mum on both arms after she attempted to stop him from shredding a tissue, we were all horrified. The wound was very servere and she has a swollen arm, and took an emergancy trip to A&E, but fortunately didn’t need stitches.
We all love our dog to bits and really don’t want to have him put down, but at the moment there seems to be no other options. The worst part is that he has forgotten what he has done and is back to his normal self. But obviously this cant be ignored or it may happen again. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.
Does Your West Highland White Terrier Have This?

I have a 3 year old westie. He has a yellow stripe down his back. Is this normal, my step-cousin said her westie has this too. We got our Westie when he was about 7 months, so I don’t know if he was born with this? Also do dogs have taste buds? Just curious about that.
