No pet stores.ONLY BREEDERS. Also, we are looking for a West Highland White Terrier puppy from 6-8 weeks old or younger. We live in Pocono Mountain so please don’t give an answer such as “pitsburg”.

Google has several helpful links. I got my dog from googling french bulldogs. I got exactly what I wanted: a frenchbull dog pup, with shots, and papers. You however, will probably not be able to find a puppy, you usually have to find a breeder you like and trust and then find out when the next breed will arrive!! Good luck!! Make sure you are not getting scammed there are lots out there!!!! God Bless!

    why don’t you start here:http://www.westieclubamerica.com/breeder…

Don’t know the area but you do not want a pup under 8 weeks. 10 weeks would be better. A responsible breeder will not let their pups go any earlier.

No. No breeder will sell you a puppy under six weeks of age. It’s dangerous for the puppy, you’ll have a ton of health, housebreaking, and aggression issues, and I believe it’s against the law. Please do more research on dog ownership. A responsible breeder won’t release them until at least 10 weeks.
Kudos on the ‘no pet stores’, though.

Go to http://www.akc.org and click on “Breeders”. Select your breed of choice and then enter your zip code. A list of reputable breeders should pull up.
Another option would be on http://www.nextdaypets.com.
**I would definitely go to http://www.petfinder.com first though and see if there are any Westies in your area that need rescuing and/or are up for adoption.**

I don’t know how close any of these shows are to you, but there are lots of upcoming dog shows in PA where you can see lots of Westies. By going to the show you can meet the breeders in person, evaluate the temperament of their dogs, and find out about upcoming litters. (No reputable breeder will sell a puppy under 8 weeks old though…earlier than that and the puppy is just too young to be separated, it isn’t healthy or safe for the pup.)
    Here you go:http://www.infodog.com/clubs/2008101401.…http://www.infodog.com/clubs/2008101402.…http://www.infodog.com/clubs/2008125201.…http://www.infodog.com/clubs/2008371301.…http://www.infodog.com/clubs/2008262201.…http://www.infodog.com/clubs/2008105201.…http://www.infodog.com/clubs/2008081801.…
If these don’t work than you can try looking at the breeder listings for your state. They have the breeders separated by state:http://www.westieclubamerica.com/breeder…
    Good luck!

under 8 weeks is just irresponsible.

  9. Rainia W says:

The AKC website or your local classifieds, but you may have trouble getting them to sell to you. Responsible breeders check out who they are selling to and make you sign contracts and such. They won’t sell a dog before eight weeks of age AND most won’t sell before 12 weeks.

Go on line and put in WHWT breeders with your area. You might also check out WHWT rescues, they occasionally have pups. If a breeder is willing to let a pup go at 6 weeks, move onto the next breeder – 6 weeks is too young for a pup to leave its mother. Good luck Westie hunting.
