What Is A Good Big Dog For A First Time Owner?

i want to get a dog and have never owned one before. i want a big dog that is easy to train, house train and that kind of stuff. i was thinking of getting a westie but they are pretty small. thanks!

Lab, retriever, etc. Keep in mind as a first-time owner that a big dog will be a big puppy first. It may take 2 years for the dog to settle down. They need a lot of exercise and training or they can do some serious damage to your house, so make sure you are prepared for those frustrating times. Large dogs are intelligent, but it wouldn’t be fair to expect the dog to be perfect and then give it away when times get tough. A dog is still a dog. Good luck!
a goog first time big dog i would go with a great dane no labs they tend to bite when they get agitated i got bit by my aunt has a black lab and i got bit by her and my poor lil jack russle got attacked by one so i wouldnt consider a labrodor great danes ar loveable sweet gental giants
German Shepard, but prepare for it to need a long walk everyday! They are such love able animals, they’re obedient and they are very protective of their owners.
PS- they’re VERY smart and fun/easy to train
Labs and Retrievers are easy to train and are very sweet! And also, most sheepdog breeds are very clever and should be easy to train.
Golden Retrivers, labs, if u get a cocker spainel i know they r medium size but i got 3 so, Irish Setters, and more
i would prefer labadors or golden retrievers because they’re very obedient & sweet natured. i love them! they’re even good for therapy dogs.
Boxer, great dogs, a male will average about 75 lbs.
