    I have a tiny little Yorkie that I adore! She is so lovable, sweet, cuddly, smart,… I could go on and on. I think Yorkies are the most amazing little sweeties ever but they aren’t for everyone. She has an attitude that doesn’t stop, you’d swear she was ten feet tall!…lol She doesn’t bark, she’s 19 m/o and I have only heard her bark like 5 times.
    I think Westies are very cute also but I have never owned one.
    You have to make the decision according to what your life is like and what you like. Good luck.

    I have owned both!
    WHWT was a female. Smart, loyal and all round wonderful dog. She lived to be 14 y.o. Never a dull moment
    YT is a male. Again smart, willing to please and believe or not – very laid back. He is 7 years old.
    Which ever you select, be ready to devote time for training, grooming, play and cuddling…

    I have a minature yorkie and he’s the best. But it really depends on the time you have and what your lifestyle can handle. Yorkies are very hyper. Although mine never barks, never bites, he’s just a great dog

    Please consider the breed of dog carefully, please don’t just choose the breed on cuteness, favourite breed, look alone.
    Yorkshire Terrier;
    Pro; CHARACTER
    This is a lively, intelligent, sometime too-brave dog, which is loving, vigilant, and it becomes attached to its family.
    Cons;The Yorkshire Terrier requires intensive daily grooming with brush and comb& bark whenever they sense danger
    West Highland Terrier;
    CHARACTER
    This is a lively, playful, intrepid, vigilant and alert dog which is cheerful, loyal to its handler, is an extrovert, cunning and ingenious but also stubborn, resolute and independent. The Westie is brim-extremely self-confident and not easily impressed.
    Cons;
    Westies can be rather persistently naughty, so remain consistent and do not let yourself soften
    Its coat should be plucked by hand two or three times each year. The coats of dogs which are to be shown will require more grooming.
    Please consider adopting an adult from a shelter-you will find Westies or Yorkies there and many other breeds too, just about all the breed available will be found in shelters/pounds, adult dogs are not in there because it there fault, it the owners circumstance that changes that causes adult dogs to end up in the shelter such as owners death, or owner moving into rental that doesn’t allow pets
