West Highland Terrier Owners: Good Family Dog?

I am considering a Westie. I recently fell in love with them. Are they great with children? Are they stubborn – hard to train, etc? Please advise. How about grooming also?

I have been a Groomer for over 17 years now and i have never run into a bad wesite. The only thing i can say to watch for is skin problems. I have noticed they can suffer badly from bad skin, some can go bald in spots from the constant itching. so be sure to check your breeder and the stock they are breeding from.

“West Highland White Terriers are game and hardy little terriers, which are easy to train. They are fairly friendly toward strangers and get along well with children. Robust, friendly, cocky and spunky. Westies just love companionship.”
