get him one the same size as him from a rescue as they have lots of dogs needing good homes and a spaded female would be fine

we had a westie meg when i was growing up, we then got a golden retriever puppy , as it was a puppy meg seem to be the dominate dog or the alpha female if ya like, so if you are thinking about another dog it may be a good idea to buy a pup!!

I’m sure your westie has enough personality not to feel inferior to ANY dog!! I new a police dog handler whose ‘other’ dog was a westie and the westie ruled. If you have thought it through (sounds as though you have) go for it and good luck!

We have a westie and have just become the proud owners of a cocker spaniel although they were a bit wary at first they are now the best of friends and when our westie goes for a hair cut the cocker goes too as they pine. great fun!I think westies are very adapt with change and soon show other dogs they are the boss no matter how much bigger the other dog is,

if it a struggle looking after one dog, why on earth do you want another. dont do it. there could be more problems and expense than you can afford both to live with and pay for.watch the DOG WHISPERER on channel eleven freeview. six pm to seven pm uk. dogs do not need a companion, only you, if you are PACK LEADER , ok, but are you??
