My Adult Spayed Female Westie Pees Whenever She Meets Someone New ?

It’s really embarrassing especially in front of guests! Can I train her to stop or am I going to have to just live with her submissive problem her whole life?

No you do not have to live with this. This is called submissive excitement and you do not want to encourage it but you are without realizing it. Before your guests come to your home, ask them to enter this way: No touch, no talk no eye contact with your dog. In otherwords, completely ignore her. If she is jumping around acting excited, ignore it. By petting her, acknowledging in any way, only feeds the submissive peeing.
She will calm down when she sees no one is paying her any attention.
It might take 5 minutes, 2 minutes whatever. Once she is calm, that is when you and your friends acknowledge her. This is the time to give affection.
If you and your friends are consistent this will work.
it sounds like shes excited.you need to wait to introduce her to people and pets until shes calm.when people come to your house you need to claim your space, the door . ask people to wait ,stand at the door and point and walk towards your dog, keep her away from the door, then have her sit or lay down. if she gets up before you answer the door go back and do it all over again.when shes meets another dog she needs to be calm you can have her sit,watch for her ears to be back. that’s a good sign.once shes calm she can meet the other dog.if she gets excited walk away. if she doesn’t calm down she doesn’t get to meet the dog.good luck
She’s a submissive dog. SUPER submissive. You should obedience train her and teach her to do tricks. That increases their self confidence. Start with a class, or research books and online on how to train.
Then you could give everyone a treat to reward to her so she won’t be afraid of them. Teach her to give them her paw. It will distract her from her fears.
No coddling. Just act like it’s business as usual.
Until she has more confidence and you worked with her, you could crate her when people show up because she shouldn’t pee in her crate.
it is an excitement problem..what you need to start doing is when you or anyone else enters your house to just ignore her and just enter and walk by her…don’t get excited or acknowledge her at first till everything has calmed down..that includes when guest come over..advise them not to talk to her or make high pitches noises “HELLO” “HEY” so forth…and see if that helps her..I had one that did the same thing…and we had to go through training.
You should probably introduce your dog to more dogs often. Take her to the park and go up and meet new dogs. Eventually, it’ll wear off.
Our little dog pees too out of excitement…you just have to live with it, or put him in a crate when people come so that he can see them, but won’t pee because he’s in his “den”
She just gets excited really easily. There might be a place to train her, but its more an emotional thing.

My Westie had the same issue for years. SHe was well socialized from the time she was a pup, but for years any guests had to ignore her when they came over until she calmed down.
So I suggest a little something that smells like you to comfort your westie when guests come over 
HOWEVER, one day we discovered her running to the door with a dirty sock in her mouth, AND THAT STOPPED THE PIDDLING!! It was amazing, like a little security blanket and eventually she didn’t even need the sock anymore
