These are things you should have researched LONG before getting a puppy. Having a dog is a serious commitment and involves a lot of work, time a patience.
    Good luck to you.

The breeder should have gone over these things with you. Hopefully you did get the dog from a reputable breeder and not a Pet Store.
Always get a new puppy checked out by a vet.
Always keep the dog on the same food that the breeder used at first, if you want to change to a better quality food, do so gradually.
Getting him on a set feeding and letting them out will help with potty training.
Go to google and search puppy care, you will find lots of information to help.
You will need to get him used to a lead by just attaching it to him and let him drag it around.
Start brushing him with a very soft brush at least 4 times a week. You can bathe him about once a month but make sure he is dried thoroughly.

It is impossible to tell you everything you need, must do here to properly feed, care for, groom, medical, train, play etc etc in one brief answer.
There are TONS of books and videos out there because there is just that much you need to know…
and should have learned BEFORE you got a puppy!!!
Truly, I think for the puppy’s sake you should return it….then do your homework before you get another one. You may even find out you shouldn’t get a puppy!
The breeder of the puppy should have guided you and answered your questions. That is why people should buy from a responsible breeder, in person.
However, as the puppy is only 5 weeks old, there is clue already it did not come from a reputable, responsible breeder. The puppy is too young to go to new home, particularly to one where the people are clueless what to even feed it!
    Poor baby!
It’s a bit late! Get some initiative, take some responsibility and
Puppy to the vet for check up. Ask the vet how to care for it.
Go to the library and get some books! Go to a pet shop and get some “puppies for dummies” books and ask the people there for guidance. Hopefully you will find an employee who actually knows something.
    GEESH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!…

THEY ARE NOTORIOUS FOR ALLERGIES…GOOD LUCK
MAKE SURE YOU GET HIM EXAMINED AND DEWORMED..SHOTS START AT 8 WEEKS..FOLLOW THROUGH THE ENTIRE SERIES SO HE DOESNT GET ANYTHING..
I RECOMMEND IAMS PUPPY FOOD (DRY)..GO BY THE BAGS FEEDING GUIDELINES..
SMALL DOGS YOU HAVTA WATCH, THEY NEED TO EAT OFTEN SO THEIR BLOOD SUGAR DOESNT DROP..
THEY NEED TO BE LET OUT WITHIN 10-15 MIN OF EATING..AND SERIOUSLY BE THE NEIGHBORHOOD IDIOT W/ THE POTTY TRAINING..HE DOES WELL OUTSIDE PRAISE THE HECK OUT OF HIM!!
