I Just Bought A Westie And A Scottie Pup.both Female And 3 Months Old.i Need Some Help From Anyone?

I bought a crate for them wanting to crate train them to be housebroken. The scottie has been doing well but the westie is way beyond anything.I m feeling very frustrated cos she would poo and pee in her crate, even I took the advice from the vet to make the space so small that can only contain the pup herself. The scottie would never soil her crate, despite she has a bed inside.Every morning when I opened the door, she would go straight to the paper to get things done. But never the westie. She even eats up the poo whenever she sees it.I dont know what more I can do..6 days already and every morning there would be a bad mess inside the crate and she lying on it,which means I would have to bath her daily. Please help….

Sorry for your trouble,Maybe she is in too long and can’t wait, and she has no choice, she may have to go more often,so if a crate doesn’t work, try making a den,put pee pads down only one and you put her on to pee, always say good girl, her bed is ruined and the smell is there, and leave her there, put a mat or bed down for her,and the vet has something to put on the poop so she won’t eat it,she needs to feel love,so don’t yell say no,rub her pee on the pad if she misses,if you catch her,I would put her close to her mess and say no then put her on the pad,its going to be hard, but I would fix the poop eating as sson as possible,if you bought from a breeder,at 12 weeks old they should of got it already, well one of your pups is doing ok,but the other, its not her fault…

Well, you are probably confusing her. Pick the crate as either a bed or a litter box, but not both. Just let the pups sleep in the kitchen or any other room, and you can use baby gates to block them in at night. And making it only small enough for her is NOT a good idea. She is crammed! How would you like to sleep in a bed with no room to move?!?!
Good luck, I have a westie and I love her, but she does not like her crate either.

You need to take her out side every 2 hours or more often, even in the middle of the night.
Don’t get fustrated, it’s not good for you, the dogs or the training you’re doing. You just have to spend more time training this pup then the other, all dogs are diferent

some dogs roll in poop because they want their own new smell( my dog rolls in cow poop). if the dog pees or poops outside of the crate they pick it up and move it to where she is supposed to go, then give a small pop on the butt and say no. It will teach her not to do that.
