Does Anyone Know Where I Can Find A Quality Breed West Highland White Terrier Puppy In Munster Region, Ireland

We’re looking to find a westie pup around the Munster region in Ireland, but we are willing to travel a bit if necessary. As there’s already a male in residence we think there’d be less hassle if we introduced a female puppy. We would need to be able to view the parents to see their temperament, their skin condition, etc. It’s a combination thank-you and birthday prezzie for July for a very special friend and relative. Unfortunatley I haven’t a clue where to begin. I’ve looked through local papers and tried finding some on the internet with no success. Can somebody please point me in the right direction? (also any tips on what to look out for when viewing would be great as I wouldn’t really know myself!) Thanks a million…

contact the kennel club or the irish kennel club
The Irish Kennel Club probably have a list of breeders, give them a call. Avoid the pet shops/websites that offer puppies, they are often from puppy farms. If you can find a breed club in Ireland they will usualy have a list of good breeders who are members of the club.
When you go to see the pup check out the conditions they are kept in, are they clean, warm, dry. Are the puppies confident and happy. Check the temperament of both parents if possible. Ask the breeder questions, what have they been feeding them on, age etc. plus are they a member of a breed club. Use all your senses they should smell of puppies, a sort of sweet smell, not dirt, they should look happy, wagging tails etc. They should not yelp when you pick them up. Their eyes, ears and rear end should be clean.
