A dog licking it’s paws a lot may be a sign of allergy’s, or it may be bored too. My boston does this when we are not paying attention to it. Also if you dog gets those dark stains under its eyes, switch to filtered or bottled water. Out tap water has a high mineral content which caused our Boston to have those brown stains. Now that we have switched to filtered water, the stains disappeared. I do think Westie are really cute dogs though, but not as cute as my boston is, lol.
My last dog was a westie and she had problems, when I moved to SC, the vet said it could be seasonal. I have a yorkie now and the same allergies, she gets a shot once a month, and I hoping it’s a seasonal thing with her. My westie just couldn’t take the grass down here, I just don’t know.
I don’t have a West Highland Terrier, but my neighbor does. Liberty (Libby) doesn’t have any health issues that I know of. She pees TONS when she gets excited though. NO allergies.
allergies are caused by environment and/or food and/or genetics
if your Westie is suffering,, please seek medical assistance.. allergies are very uncomfortable for the dog
