Do Purebreed West Highland White Terriers Ever Have Variations Of White In The Color Of Their Coat?
Filed under Care & Training Q&As
Almost every 1 I see is white with a light cream stripe down the back. Even a couple of mixes I see w/ this strip but according to this I guess its supposed to be all white though. http://www.akc.org/breeds/west_highland_…

Nope, any other color is a fault. If there is another color present it is either very badly bred or not purebred.
Yep. Some breeders get them….thus making the puppy a “pet only” puppy. My old neighbor told me she got hers from an AKC breeder who worked on other things. One litter had a creamish colored puppy (which was her Pumpkin) that she sold for $300 because it wasn’t show quality

The AKC standard states that the only acceptable color is white only. Check out the link and scroll down to the coat section. It will tell your exactly what it’s supposed to look like. But no color other than white is accepted.
