poodle – they don’t shed or have dander.
We have had small poodles for many years, and now we own terriers (Australian). I am familiar with west highland white terriers because there are two who are friends with my dogs and members of my family have had them. Poodles do not shed and the terriers do a very amount that it is a non factor. I think both dog will work for people that have allergies.
On the other hand, our vet told us that the Wesies is the number one dog for having allergies. Bichon are also on the list. I suggest you talk to a vet about this.
Pure breed dogs have personality traits. Terriers and poodles have completely difference personality. Life with a terrier is wonderful but different, and we love ours. If you do not know about terriers, I would recommend that you spend some time researching terriers before getting one.
Poodles, shih tzus, bichons, and some terriers (including westies) are low shed and may work out for SOME people with allergies. But someone with severe allergies may still have a reaction.
Both poodles and terriers are good dogs to own if you have allergies. Poodles seem to have ‘hair’ instead of fur, and they don’t shed. Terriers don’t shed very much, instead you have to strip or pluck off the dead hair from time to time.
