My next door neighbor has a Westie, and it is the happiest doggie I have ever seen! She is great with my 6 year old daughter and 2 year old nephew. She is also good with other animals.
Her tail is always wagging and she always looks like she has a smile on her face.
I have never seen any type of aggression with her.

They are one of my favorite small dogs. They are very easy to train and easy going dogs in general. You can’t go wrong with a Westie.

I had a westie years ago, as I’ve had various terriers for many years. Like all terriers they are independant thinkers, and even though they are cute little dogs you have to be firm with them. If you remember that they are a big dog in a small body you should have no problem having a well adjusted wonderful little friend.

they are great dogs! I had 2 and they are really good dogs. The only thing that you need to watch out for is that the breed had a history of skin disease but apart from that they are great.

I own a Westie, and I love him to bits, but you should not just be getting a dog because you think it’s cute – you need to do serious research to understand the breed and know if it’s a good match for you and your lifestyle. Know their history – remember, they were bred to hunt and kill vermin. They are not lapdogs (though you wouldn’t know it looking at my little guy). They definitely have a stubborn streak, but they also have great little personalities and, properly trained, make great companions. They’re not too demanding, but they do not like to be ignored, and my dog’s not afraid to let you know when he wants attention. You also have to consider upkeep – they will need to be groomed, and they love to dig (another part of their terrier heritage). If you love your garden, you might want to reconsider:) Do your research – visit dog shows; talk to breeders, search the web for Westie groups and read up on the breed’s history. If you find that a Westie fits, I say go for it – my dog is a joy to have, and I wouldn’t trade him for the world!

i onlly know one and he is all terrier. I have a jack russell and they are similar. a bit stubborn, but i bet you would just love him or her. they are nice if you train them to be nice. they sure are cute with tons of personaitly. all dogs take time to train. put in the time and you will have a great dog. mine two are sacked out on my bed with me right now. my best friends.

I had one, it took over a year to toilet train her! she had separation anxiety and was scared of everything! It was a very cute dog, but a nightmare to live with! They are so stubborn!
I think it was just my dog! No one else seems to have had any problems. Don’t get one from these kennels, even if they are ultra modern, that’s the reason we had so many problems. Stick with HOME BREEDERS!
