I too have a little westie rosie who also has white shaker syndrome ,when she started with the symptoms i took her to a vet i had been with for 32 years and basically didnt know what it was ,rosie couldnt stand eat or do anything herself if it wasnt for a friend urging me to go to another vet im afraid rosie wouldnt be here today ,knowing how poorly rosie was the vet rang me at home 10 o clock at night telling me what was wrong with rosie and that was after seeing her once.at the moment we have good days and bad days but im confident once we get things on an even keel rosie will be back to her old self.one or two points rosie looses her bark when shes not well and also sits facing away from me,also have been told not to get rosie vacinated, hope this helps yours sincerley jenifer garner

I wish I had seen your article on white shaker syndrome earlier. My westie started having these four months ago. Although otherwise healthy these tremors worried me. I took her to the vet who seemed puzzeled as to what was causing it. He gave her antibiotics as thought an ear infection was causing it. After two month she had a fit. The vet then gave her tablets for her heart as she had a heart murmer and a leaking heart valve. He said the heart condition could be making her of balance. I wasn't happy with this diagnosis as I thought she should be given something for epilepsy. But he was the expert so I had to go along with it. ten dayd later she had a fit which she never came out of and died. I feel angry that my wee girl died by being diagnosed wrongly. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
